This ring is made through a special method of metalsmithing known as sand casting. A wax mold of the ring was hand carved by me, then placed in sand, removed, and the remaining form was filled with liquid hot sterling silver. The end result is a thick, chunky piece that has no solder joints, and is truly going to stand the test of time.
Sand casting creates an organic looking piece, with divots and small holes from where sand made its mark. It's like a reminder that this piece is really from the earth.
This ring is extremely comfortable and has a solid weight. On the front of the ring band is a 14 karat goldfill hand sawed heart. There is also a petite 1.5 mm natural diamond in a flush setting to add a little sparkle to this piece.
The ring is about 1/4 an inch in diameter.
Sizing: This ring is a size 8. Thicker rings fit more snugly. These fit fairly true to size, however you could probably size up 1/4 and be just fine or if you like a little room in your rings.
