This ring was made through a special method of metalsmithing known as sand casting. A wax mold of the ring was hand carved by me, then placed in sand, removed, and the remaining form was filled with liquid hot sterling silver. The end result is a thick, chunky piece that has no solder joints, and is truly going to stand the test of time.
Sand casting creates an organic looking piece, with divots and small holes from where the sand made its mark. It’s a reminder that this piece is really from the earth.
This ring features an iridescent opal. It is set atop a chunky, comfortable band. The band measures 1/4 an inch wide.
Dimensions: This ring is a size 7. However, thick rings fit more snug so keep this in mind when choosing your size.
